Feel free to contact any of our clients via their website email and ask them about our service and results. QUESTION...
What are some of the objectives I should be considering?ANSWER...
There are 3 major objectives for a website:
1. Bringing people to your site. It doesn't matter how attractive your site is if nobody knows it is there. Proper metatag optimization and search engine placement are necessary elements. Other forms of marketing include reciprocal linking, webrings, newsletter, email, direct mail and word of mouth. 2. Keeping people at your site. Reciprocal linking is only beneficial when it provides additional resources that are similar to yours but not in competition with you. It is also important that your site is aesthetically pleasing, user-friendly and interesting. 3. Offering incentives to return to your site. Updating content and inventory are key elements in bringing people back to your site. Some good examples... • Online newsletter or sign-up information for a USPS version. • Online industry article (in-house or from a third party). • You also might want to consider ways to bring people to your street address from your site (these also give you ways to track website marketing results). • Offer an online discount coupon that people can print, clip and redeem. • Tell visitors to... "Mention this website for an internet discount" • Point out other advantages for visiting your business such as a wider selection of styles, colors and sizes, or a more personalized service. QUESTION...
Can I keep track of who visits my website?ANSWER...
Tracking results are available, outlining things like hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly averages, which time zone visitors came from, what search engine they used, what keyword they entered to find you and what website address they came from, just to mention a few. This is a great asset for tracking website marketing results.Common misconceptions when building a website...
"A do-it-yourself website does not require a knowledge of programming language."Although most Content Management Systems have a user-interface and pre-designed templates, there will be times that a knowledge of HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and JavaScript will help greatly, when things go wrong or when there are updates needed, and will open up many design options that would not ordinarily be available. Eaglewing Enterprises Creative Services will work with you to set up the initial design template, fix glitches in the system and make updates as needed. "A copyright belongs to the web designer." A copyright belongs to you, the owner of the site. Under no circumstances should the web designer or web design firm hold the copyright, unless they are also the owner of the site. The same applies to the domain name registration. "A WordPress™ site should cost thousands of dollars to build." Some so-called web designers and developers will charge you up to $2500 or more to set up a WordPress™ design template. This is ridiculous! If anything, a WordPress™ site should cost less to build than building a site from scratch. They offer design templates that make the setup a lot easier and less expensive. "It is a bad idea to have your email address on the website." Usually, when a web designer tells you that you should not have your email address on the website it is because they don't want other web designers offering a better product or service to you via email. They will tell you that it is for your own good when it is in fact for their own good. The email link is the most common form of communication from the visitor to your site — do you really want to eliminate this? Often times, they will also not offer a direct link to your website in their portfolio. There used to be a captcha service (for filtering spam email) called 'mailhide' that was offered by Google and was discontinued. Most servers have software that filter out spam mail and there are also online captcha services that will prevent spam mail from getting through. One of these services (that I personally use) is located at https://spamty.eu
